NHS Coffee SOS: Our Contribution Is Described As ‘A Magnificent Response’

Our contribution to the NHS Coffee SOS – an urgent appeal for coffee machines – was described in the on-line trade journal Planet Vending as ‘a magnificent response’. Our contribution was to arrange to deliver shipments of our Flexy Nespresso capsule machine to University College London Hospitals and the Royal London & St Bartholomew’s Hospital.

The shipments totalled 60 machines.

‘We considered the potential of all our products in terms of how they could contribute to the NHS Coffee SOS, to play a part in protecting the well-being of NHS staff during their ‘darkest hour’’, Sales Director Craig Jukes said. ‘The issue with the majority of our machines, in the context of the NHS Coffee SOS, is that they would need to be set up on site by a professional and we were informed when we responded to the appeal that having installation engineers on site was not an option.’

Flexy Nespresso: it’s the coffee machine equivalent of ‘plug and play’.

‘The Flexy Nespresso is ideal for the task in hand. Because it uses capsules it’s the coffee machine equivalent of ‘plug and play’. It’s simple to install, to use and to keep clean and germ-free, which is obviously vitally important when you consider the environments in which they’ll be used.

‘We see our donation to the NHS Coffee SOS as the least we can do. Our Head Office colleagues are based in the Lombardy region of Italy; the area at the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak in Europe. They set up a fundraising campaign in recognition of the work of staff at their local hospital, The Papa Giovanni XXIII, where many medics and ancillary staff have fallen victim to the virus. Evoca pledged at the off to ‘at least double’ the amount raised by staff and two weeks ago, the sum of 100,000 Euros was donated.

‘’Our response is simply another expression of Evoca’s sense of solidarity with the people who are combating this unprecedented emergency on the front line’, Craig said.

We were inspired by the appreciation that came our way from the NHS. Professor Marcel Levi MD PhD FRCP, Chief Executive of University College Hospitals London, wrote: ‘This is absolutely fantastic, I am 100% sure our staff will absolutely love this as it is very useful in stressful times and during night shifts as well. Our PAs will be on the outlook for (the delivery) and I will make sure it is correctly distributed across the various departments. This is fabulous, many thanks! I will make sure we will send you some pictures from our staff once they have received the machines. Best wishes, Marcel.’

Bill Coleman, Supply Chain Lead at Royal London Hospital added his thanks: ‘Thank-you for your kind donation of Nespresso machines for our wards, which we are grateful to accept. We will distribute these across the wards within Barts Health.’
